Who We Are

Why NOSN? States Matter!

Access - Commercial payers and Medicaid set their policies and are regulated at the state level. Medicare LCDs are established at the state/regional level and receive input from state Carrier Advisory Councils (CACs). State legislatures and officials have a large impact on how cancer care is delivered in their state.

Knowledge = Power - National commercial health insurance carriers and Medicare’s regional contractors often test new policies in a few “beta” states. One state’s legislation can spark action in other states. NOSN is a formal line of communication between oncology leaders in multiple states and is meant to keep all member states aware of emerging challenges to permit early intervention before they reach critical mass.

State Cancer Representation is Not Uniform - NOSN pools the resources and expertise of many state oncology leaders to benefit every represented state. Cancer patients deserve equal access. NOSN’s goal is to orchestrate passage of similar cancer-related legislation and regulatory rules in every state. Uniform off-label, oral parity and step therapy laws are just some examples.

Partnership in Cancer - Challenges in cancer require complex solutions. NOSN unites parties from different areas of cancer care to develop these answers.

Collaboration - You are invited to sit at the table to offer input and creative ideas. NOSN recognizes the value of your company as a collaborator to help pursue our common goals.
