NOSN’s Working Committees are the engine of our organization. Composed of dedicated members from across our network, these committees tackle specific challenges and initiatives in oncology. From shaping legislative strategy to planning national events and developing educational resources, our committees ensure that every voice is heard and that our actions are driven by the real-world needs of our members.
State Legislature
Committee
NOSN’s State Legislature Committee works at the intersection of oncology and public policy, actively partnering with national and state medical associations and patient advocacy groups to advance legislation that protects cancer patients’ access to care.
The committee’s work is focused on three core priorities: promoting uniform legislation across states, ensuring financial transparency in healthcare, and defending physician decision-making freedom and patient rights. A significant area of focus is Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) reform — working to define the problems created by PBMs, develop sound public policy solutions, and build a cohesive coalition of healthcare stakeholders and patient advocates to drive meaningful change.

Positions
Committee
The NOSN Positions Committee is responsible for developing and publishing NOSN’s official stance on critical national and state legislative and regulatory issues affecting specialty oncology care. When lawmakers, regulators, or industry stakeholders request input on specific policies, this committee ensures that NOSN speaks with a single, authoritative, and consistent voice.
Working in close collaboration with the State Legislature and Pharmacy Standards Committees, the Positions Committee has contributed to responses on Pharmacy Benefit Manager legislation, biosimilar policy, step therapy, and copay accumulator programs — ensuring that NOSN’s influence is felt at both the state and national level.

Pharmacy Standards
Committee
The NOSN Pharmacy Standards Committee monitors and responds to emerging pharmacy and cancer care issues at the state and national level. The committee’s mission is to support sound decision-making, inform policy development, and advocate for regulatory and legislative approaches that protect both clinical autonomy and patient access to cancer treatment.
Key areas of focus include USP compounding standards, Pharmacy Benefit Manager practices, whitebagging and site-of-care policies, and state board of pharmacy regulations that impact oncology practices. The committee works closely with NOSN’s State Legislature and Positions Committees to ensure a coordinated, informed response to pharmacy-related threats across the country.
